REED takes 10 point lead into final

Team San Manuel Yamaha rider Chad Reed will take a 10-point lead into next weekend's World Championship Supercross finale, after finishing second at the penultimate round of the 2008 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series at Seattle's Qwest Field.
Reed posted the fastest qualifying time before winning his heat race, despite still carrying a serious shoulder injury into the event.
Chad reed came into the weekend's race with a 13-point lead, collided with Davi Millsaps while going for the holeshot and in turn started the race 10 seconds behind and in last place.
Chad reed charged his way through the field and it was not long before he was third behind Andrew Short. Andrew Short rode extremely defensively in an attempt to not give Reed an opportunity to start an attack on Short's teammate Kevin Windham for the win. As Reed made his move, Short turned hard into him and the two collided. The Australian (chad reed) held on to execute the pass and maintain a championship lead of 10 points over Windham going into the final round. The result was also his 12th podium finish this season and increased his AMA Supercross career podium finish count to an awesome 85.
